Exactly what’s been happening the past week: sheer nothingness. Now that APs are over, we’re practically doing nothing in four of my classes. It kind of makes me want to go to school whenever I wake up in the morning, without an alarm clock; after all, the first three classes of the day are AP classes.
A logical solution would be to make better use of my time and skip, but I’ve never been one for the practice. So I just politely ask the teacher to leave the room, or tell them I’m not going to be in their class for that period of the day… and then I can make better use of my time!
Now I can leave the class and not get in trouble. Super.
Yes, I’m a genius on occasion.
The Art of Studying
Two weeks to get ready. Two weeks to get ready for my AP tests. And then I remember the stereotypical junior at Enloe High School and realize I fit that description. And become disgusted by it.
This is when I clean my room – because a clean room offers the ideal environment for cranking out massive amounts of studying. So everything is going in piles of all sorts, and my desk is cleared, ready for work.
It’s like a zen garden now: well-balanced, in good energy. I can feel it.
I use sheets of notebook paper, because the more sheets you write on and kind of throw in a pile at your feet, the more accomplished you feel about your study process.
But I need to get started.

I’ll be playing the piano in the pit! Come see it!!
leapin’ lizard!
Right as I was stepping outside, in mid-stride coming out the garage, right about to start a run in the blazing sunlight, I see something jump! I stop.
And perhaps did a freak-out twitch.
And when I looked closer I saw it was a lizard, fairly small, only about three inches in length, and bright green. I ordered my sister to get my camera, because that’s what siblings are for [not], and moved ever so close to the reptile.
And it turned a deep red. Apparently that happens when it gets scared. So I snapped some quick shots, left it alone, and resumed my run.

It was so cool.
April Fool’s

stupid weather gods…
Good news: we’re finally on spring break!! [strangely enough, a week after the rest of the country had spring break...] But what happened to the nice weather!? We’ve been plagued with cold, rainy, cloudy days.

Stupid weather gods.
I can’t say I haven’t been taking too many pictures. My camera’s a dear. And I keep learning about the new features on it, which just leads to me taking more pictures. Did I ever mention I crashed a computer once by uploading too many pictures? That was when I got my first digital camera in 7th grade. It took a couple of weeks to figure that it was the PICTURES that caused the crash… not a virus.

alive and well
I know. I haven’t updated in a while. And it makes me feel like everyone else who neglects their blog and then apologizes, and then further neglects their blog.
Life has been splendid, and that’s the only way I can describe it over the last month or so. Of course there were a few bumps along the way, but it has been great. And I’m not just being optimistic here. Really. Great.
Today I bought a new digital camera to replace my really outdated Sony Cybershot… so I got a Canon Powershot. It was like an early birthday present because my birthday is on Monday. whoo! But I paid for half of the price at the same time so it makes me feel like I earned it! Because that’s what accomplishments lead to. Earning things.
I think it’s my brother and sister’s birthday on Monday too…
